About
Colour City Dragon Boat Club
With over 50 members, the Colour City Dragon Boat Club was established in 2008 and since that time has provided an opportunity for paddlers of all ages and abilities to enjoy the physical and mental well-being aspects of dragon boating in a well-organised and supportive environment. The Club actively participates in regattas at a regional, state and national level and a number of our members paddle at a representative level both in Australia and overseas. We have a high level of members who are accredited as sweeps and coaches with the peak body, Dragon Boats NSW, with some of these contributing as trainers and mentors.
We are actively involved in the community and promote the sport of dragon boating at relevant events including the Orange Show and the Wellbeing Expo. Regular ‘Come and Try’ days are held to introduce prospective members to the sport and the Club regularly provides the opportunities for community groups to experience the thrill of this team sport.
The Club is based at Lake Canobolas and has facilities there, which allow us to store our safety equipment and boats. We have hosted the annual Western Region Dragon Boat Regatta at Lake Canobolas, with the event attracting teams from across NSW and ACT.
